Afghanistan registered a memorable win to beat Bangladesh by 224 runs on the fifth and final day of one off Test match played at Zahur Chaduhary Ahmad Stadium, Chattagrom on Monday.
The first session was washed out due to rain. Zahir Khan dismissed Bangladesh captain Shakib AL Hasan for 44. Rain arrived again. After the tea break, Soumya Sarkar and Mehidy Hasan Miraz stopped the flow of wickets. Rashid Khan got the wicket of Mehidy and Taijul Islam in the same over to put Afghanistan on course of famous win. Afghan captain Rashid took the wicket of Soumya Sarkar to register a memorable 224 run win.
Afghanistan bowled out Bangladesh for 173. Rashid Khan was the pick of bowlers with 6 for 49. Zahir Khan took 3 for 59 while Mohammad Nabi took 1 wicket.
It was a dominating performance by Afghanistan team right from word go. Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first. Rahmat Shah 102 and Asghar Afghan 88* helped the visitors to go into day 1 at 271 for 5. On the 2nd day, Rashid Khan played a captains knock scoring 51 runs. Afghanistan was bowled out for 342.
The Afghanistan bowlers created a major impact with Rashid Khan, Zahir Khan and Mohammad Nabi wrecked havoc among the Bangladeshi batsmen. At the end of day 2, Bangladesh ended on 194 for 8.

On the 4th day, Afghanistan was bowled out for 260. Again the Afghanistan spinners created havoc among the Bangladeshi batsmen. It was another terrific performance by Rashid Khan, Zahir Khan and Mohammad Nabi. Bangladesh ended day 4 on 136 for 6.
Playing their 3rd match, Afghanistan created an major impact on the Test match with dominating performance. It was their 2nd win in Test matches after winning their maiden win against Ireland this year.
Afghanistan 342 in 117 overs ( Rahmat Shah 102, Asghar Afghan 92, Rashid Khan 51, Taijul Islam 4/116, Shakib AL Hasan 2/64) and 260 in 90.1 overs ( Ibhraim Zadran 87, Asghar Afghan 50, Shakib AL Hasan 3/58, Mehidy Miraz Hasan 2/35) beat Bangladesh 205 in 70.5 overs ( Mominul Haque 52, Mossadek Hossain 48*, Rashid Khan 5/55) and 173 in 61.4 overs ( Shakib AL Hasan 44, Shadman Islam 41, Rashid Khan 6/49) by 224 runs.
