
The BCCI has announced the squad for the 3 matches T20I series against South Africa starting from 15th September 2019. After whitewashing West Indies 3-0 in West Indies, the Indian team would be looking to their best in the upcoming series against the Proteas. MS Dhoni has opted out for the 2nd successive series as Pant would is the 1st choice wicket-keeper.
The Indian team will be led by Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Shikhar Dhawan are the three openers included in the squad. Indian captain Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant are the middle order batsmen. Hardik Pandya makes a comeback into the squad after missing the West Indie series due to an injury.
Ravindra Jadeja, Krunal Pandya, Hardik Pandya are the genuine all-rounders in the squad. Washington Sundar, Rahul Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja, Krunal Pandya have been included as the spinners.
Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, and Khaleel Ahmed are the pace bowlers included in playing XI. With the like of Hardik Pandya coming into the squad, the batting depth in lower-order would be increased. The team is almost like the T20I squad for the West Indies series.
Without the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, it is a chance for the Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Khaleel Ahmed to prove his worth. The first T20I will be played on 15th September at Dharamshala. The second one will be played on 18th September at Mohali and the final T20I to be played on 22nd at Bangalore.
