ICC announces schedule for the Under 19 World Cup 2020

The ICC have announced the schedule for Under 19 World Cup 2020 to be played from 17th January to 9th February in South Africa. There is a total of 16 teams with 4 teams in each Group. The top two teams in each Group will qualify for the Super League. It will be played across 8 venues in South Africa.

Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Scotland, Japan, Canada have made it into the Under 19 World Cup history for the first time.

Group A comprise of defending Champions India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Japan who qualified from Eastern Pacific region. India will start its title defence against Sri Lanka on 19th January, then by Japan on 20th January and the final group match against New Zealand on 24th January.

In Group B, runners up from 2018 Under 19 World Cup Australia, West Indies, England and Nigeria who qualified from the African region.

Group C consist of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Scotland. The 2014 winner South Africa, Afghanistan, first time qualifiers from Asia UAE and Canada who qualified from Americas region comprise of Group D.

  1. New Zealand versus Japan (18th January 2020)- North West University Oval, Potchefstroom
  2. India versus Sri Lanka (19th January 2020)- Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein
  3. India versus Japan (21st January 2020)- Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein
  4. New Zealand versus Sri Lanka (22nd January 2020)- Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein
