India crush listless Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs to win the series 2-0

The Indian Cricket Team took 1 hour to beat Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs to seal the series 2-0 on the 3rd day of historic Pink Ball Test match played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday. With this win, India have consolidated their position at the top of the ICC Test championship points table with 360.

Starting on the overnight score of 152 for 6, Umesh Yadav got the early wicket of Ebadat Hossain with an easy catch by Virat Kohli. The experienced Mushfiqur Rahim played with positive intent and gave some reasons to cheer for the Bangladeshi batting line up. Al Amin Hossain enjoyed his stay at the crease. Umesh Yadav dismissed Rahim for well made 74. Yadav got the final wicket of Al Amin Hossain for 21 to give India a resounding an innings and 46 runs win. Mahmudllah did not come to bat as he could not recover from the injury.

In this historic Test Pink Ball Test match, Virat Kohli played a brilliant innings scoring 136. Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami were superb. For his 9-wicket haul in the match, Ishant was awarded the man of the match.

For his superb performance in the series, Ishant Sharma was awarded the man of the series. It was a successful hosting by BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. India became the first Team in Test history to register 4 successful wins by an innings.

During the South Africa series, India crushed South Africa by an innings 137 runs at Pune. Under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the World number 1 proved their worth again by winning by an innings and 202 runs in the 3rd Test at Ranchi.

India’s domination at home continued as they won their successive 12th Test series. In the first Test match at Indore, India crushed Bangladesh by an innings 130 runs.

India 347 for 9 in 89.4 overs  ( Virat Kohli 136 , Cheteshwar Pujara 55, Al Amin Hossain 3/85, Ebadat Hossain 3/91, Abu Jayed 2/77)  beat Bangladesh 195 in 41.1 overs ( Mushfqiur Rahim 74, , Mahmudllah 39, Ishant Sharma 4/56, Umesh Yadav 5/53) Bangladesh 106 in 30.3 overs ( Shadman Islam 29, Liton Das 24, Ishant Sharma 5/22, Umesh Yadav 3/29) by an innings and 46 runs.

India sweep the series 2-0. Their next Test series would be in New Zealand away.
