India crush South Africa by an innings and 202 runs to whitewash the series 3-0

The Indian Cricket Team crushed South Africa by an innings and 202 runs to register 3-0 whitewash on the fourth day of final Test match played at JSCA International Stadium, Ranchi on Tuesday. With this crushing win, India are on 240 points in the ICC Test Championships.

It took Indian bowlers just 12 balls to dismiss South Africa’s 2 wickets. Shahbaz Nadeem dismissed de Bryun with a good catch by Wriddhiman Saha and then took a return catch to get Lungi Ngidi. India bowled out South Africa for 133. It was a dominating performance by the World number 1 ranked Test side. India proved too much for the South African side and dominated the visitors in every department.

The Indian team registered their 11th successive home Test series win. Rohit Sharma was named the man of the match for his 212 runs in the first innings. For his brilliance with the bat as an opener, Rohit was awarded the man of the series. He scored 529 runs from 4 innings and created pressure on South African bowling line up with his aggressive batting which took the game away from the visitors.

Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav created an impact on good pitches. They bowled with pace and troubled the South African batsmen with bounce. Ravindra Jadeja cemented his place as an all-rounder in Test side coming at number 6 and also created an impact with the ball. Ravichandran Ashwin performed brilliantly in the first two Test matches at Vizag and Pune but could not do the same impact in third Test match at Ranchi.

Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane proved their worth which helped India post massive totals in all three Test matches.

India 497 for 9 d in 146.3 overs ( Rohit Sharma 212, Ajinkya Rahane 115, George Linde 4/133, Kagiso Rabada 3/85) beat South Africa 133 in 48 overs (de Bryun 30, Mohammed Shami 3/10, Shahbaz Nadeem 2/16, Umesh Yadav 2/35) and 162 in 56.2 overs ( Zubayr Hamza 62, Linde 37, Umesh Yadav 3/40, Ravindra Jadeja 2/19)  India 497 for 9 d in 146.3 overs ( Rohit Sharma 212, Ajinkya Rahane 115, George Linde 4/133, Kagiso Rabada 3/85) by an innings and 202 runs.
