Jasprit Bumrah and Shikhar Dhawan returns for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka and Australia

In good news for Indian Cricket, Jasprit Bumrah and Shikhar Dhawan returns to the limited overs squad to face Sri Lanka and Australia to be played from 5th January.

India will take on Sri Lanka in a 3 match T20I series starting from 5th January. Rohit Sharma who had a sensational 2019 across all formats has been rested.  After missing the West Indies T20I series due to an injury will be making a comeback into the squad. KL Rahul who performed brilliantly will be his opening partner.

Sanju Samson has been named as the third backup opener for the series. Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant comprise of middle order. Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja will be the all-rounders for the squad. Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja comprise of three spinners.

Jasprit Bumrah who has not played cricket since the West Indies series will be tested during the upcoming match against Kerala. Navdeep Saini, Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah would be genuine pacers in the squad. Mohammed Shami has been rested due to heavy workload. Deepak Chahar has been ruled out due to injury to his back that he aggravated in the 2nd ODI at Vizag. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also has been ruled out to an injury.

The first match of the series will be played on 5th January at Guwahati, followed by 2nd one at Indore on 7th and the final T20I to be played at Pune on 10th January.

After the 3 match T20I series, India will face a tough challenge against Australia in the 3 match ODI series starting from 14th January 2020.

Rohit Sharma will return to the squad after a break. KL Rahul who performed brilliantly in the ODI series against West Indies would open the innings. Shikhar Dhawan makes a comeback into the ODI squad.

Indian captain Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Kedar Jadhav would comprise of the middle order. Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja would do the all-rounders duty.

Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav would do the spinners role. Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Shardul Thakur would do the pacers job.

The first ODI would be on 14th January at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, followed by 2nd ODI at Rajkot on 17th and the final ODI to be played on 19th January at Bengaluru.
