
Ahead of the 2020 auction to be held on 19th December, the franchises have announced it retained and release players list. Before the auction few players were traded. The deadline for retained and release list for IPL 2020 was till UP to 5 PM on Friday.
A total of 68 players have been released. Many franchises have retained their core group for 2020 IPL. Kings XI Punjab, have the highest purse among all the franchises. Royal Challengers Bangalore released players create an impact on auction.

- Chennai Super Kings
The most successful team in IPL history, Chennai Super Kings have retained its core group from 2019 IPL. They returned from the ban to win the title in 2018 and lost the finals to Mumbai Indians by just 1 run.
