The explosive left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Risbabh Pant has been ruled out of the 2nd One day international match due to a concussion. He was hit by a bouncer delivery by Pat Cummins in the 44th over which hit his helmet and was caught. Pant made 28 runs off 33 balls and added 49 runs for the 6th wicket.

Pant did not come to keep as he went under observation. KL Rahul kept wickets as India was annihilated by Australian team as the visitors won the match by 10 wickets with 74 balls to spare. Warner and Finch scored twin centuries. It was a disappointing performance by the Men in Blue who posted just 255 runs in 49.1 overs. Apart from Shikhar Dhawan 74 and KL Rahul 47, none of the Indian batsmen could score runs.

After the fall of KL Rahul wicket, Dhawan, Kohli, Shreyas Iyer were dismissed in quick succession to be in trouble. Decent knocks by Pant, Jadeja, Shami and Kuldeep Yadav, India posted 255 in 49.1 overs. The Indian bowlers could not pick early wickets which kept the Australian team ahead. Warner and Finch did the job easily and made the visitors won the match easily.

According to BCCI release, Pant is stable, and all his scans report are clear. He has been discharged from the hospital and will head to NCA, Bengaluru to undergo rehabilitation process.

With the third match slated on 19th January at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, the call can be taken after observing physical condition in next 72 hours.

India trail the 3 match ODI series 0-1. The 2nd match is slated to be played at SCA Stadium, Rajkot. With Pant ruled out, it will be interesting to see which combination the Indian team will go with.

The Indian team would be looking to comeback stronger with the top three Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli stand up and help Men in Blue level the series.
