Multinational conglomerate Tata Group and the educational technology companies UnAcademy and Byju’s remained in fray till the end but failed to outbid the Dream 11. While Tata Group did not submit their final bid, Byju’s (₹ 210 crore) and UnAcademy (₹170crore) came in as close second and third respectively.

Dream 11 will now replace the Chinese Mobile giant Vivo, who suspended their Rs 440 crore per year deal with BCCI for this season owing to the border stand-off between India and China.

IPL 2020 is set to take place from September 19th to November 10th in the UAE. The 53-day tournament will witness 10-afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST while the evening matches will start at 19:30 IST, both half an hour earlier than usual.

The 13th edition of the T20 cricket tournament will be staged at three venues (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah) in the UAE. While the entire tournament will be played in a bio-secured environment, the UAE government might allow limited spectators in the later half.

This deal is sure to relieve BCCI of a few losses. It will remain of utmost importance for both the board as well as the franchises to stage a safe, healthy and an cricketingly rich tournament.
